Umu and Lu Pulu

I can't believe it, I forgot to charge the camera battery and didn't get any photos of umu at the Bertoch's. Maybe I'll have to have Doris pose Phillip by the umu and stage me a picture! The Bertoch's lived in Tonga several years ago, so they built an umu in their backyard, which is the pit islanders cook their meat in. We had chicken, beef, and pork ribs with all the fixings and lu pulu, which in this case was corned beef wrapped in spinach leaves with onions and cooked in coconut milk. It was YUMMY! Great food, great company! Thanks guys!
