We got to Coronado this afternoon and went to the beach near Hotel Del Coronado. It's a gorgeous beach. The kids went boogie boarding, built sand castles and buried Nate standing up to his armpits. We saw about 18 dolphins, or maybe 3 depending on if they were the same dolphins swimming by. Either way, some were really close to the shore, so the kids swam out and got within 10-15 feet of them. It was while they were out by the dolphins that Aaron stepped on a sting ray and it stung him on the foot. He was in some major pain and we had to carry him back up to the road.
We found out you can't just pee on a sting ray sting...haha! You have to soak it in very hot water since it's poison is protein based. Aaron soaked for an hour and his mom brought him pizza and "Hunger Games" to read in the tub. Thanks to Jeff for his great hospitality! He bought us this giant pizza which is 3 1/2 large pizzas...that should keep us fed for a while. His house is awesome and has tons of beach equipment in the garage, even long boards, so we are hoping to find some surf in the next couple days!
